Digital Magazines Now Available!

Lester Public Library is pleased to offer an exciting new online product called Zinio for Libraries. This wonderful service will allow you to download magazines to your smart phone, tablet, laptop and computers at home and enjoy them any time you want—for FREE.  You will be able to check out as many magazines, current and (if available) back issues as you’d like and keep them as long as you’d like; no need to return them and no overdue fines, no matter how long you keep them.

The Lester Public Library is proud to offer a new database of test prep study guides and computer training programs to patrons free of charge!  Whether you're studying for your GED, College admissions exam or want to practice for your firefighter, nursing or police exam, you can do it with this database. 

You can also learn computer skills and programs with Learning Express.  Learn basics with Intro to the Internet or Getting Started with Computers, brush up on Word, Excel or Powerpoint or even take classes in using Dreamweaver software for web design.

Created by LPL Staff and volunteers, this database contains obituaries, wedding, birth and adoption announcements and articles about Two Rivers.

This is now part of the regular catalog.  To search, use the advanced search and type the person's LAST name in the search box and then select Title search.  To limit results you can also add one of the Subject terms-- marriages, births or obituaries--in the Subject box.

Historic Two Rivers Photos

The Lester Public Library is pleased to announce that the Wentorf Photograph Collection is now available online.  Housed in a locked cabinet at the library to protect this valuable collection of photographs, some from the 1800s, anyone can now access, search or simply enjoy these wonderful photos.  To access this collection use the following link:

Mr. Wentorf was both a local photographer and a collector of historical photographs. His images focus on local landmarks, industries and institutions, and people going about daily life in Two Rivers. Many of his photographs include group shots of organizations and civic groups.

Manitowoc County:  Where History Lives
This website from the Wisconsin Historical Society provides a wealth of information about Manitowoc County History including the location of museums, historical markers, and historic sites. 

Neshotah: the story of Two Rivers, Wisconsin by Evan Gagnon.  Copyright 1969. Long out of print, this book has become the unofficial history of Two Rivers, WI.  The entire book is now freely available in digital format. 

Benke Photo & Postcard Collection 
This is a collection of photographs of Manitowoc and Two Rivers scenes, buildings and people taken by local photographer Hermann C. Behnke.  Most of the photos date from the turn of the century. 

The Home Front:  Manitowoc County in World War II
An on-going digital collection that tells the story of life on the Manitowoc County home front during World War II.
